Sodium Chloride Injection, USP 0.9%, also known as Saline solution, is a sterile, non-pyrogenic, aqueous preparation of sodium chloride. It is indicated for administration to maintain fluid and electrolyte balance in patients. This equal concentration preparation has a pH of between 6.5 and 7.5, and its osmolarity is approximately 290 milliosmoles per liter (mOsm/L).
Sodium Chloride Injection, USP 0.9%, can be administered IV into a vein, or into the subcutaneous tissue. It is commonly used in medical settings for correcting dehydration, electrolyte imbalances, and other medical conditions.
Mannitol Solution, USP 20%
Mannitol Injection, USP 20%, is a sterile, non-pyrogenic solution of mannitol. It is administered intravenously to reduce intracranial pressure . The solution is hyperosmotic and exerts its effects by drawing electrolytes from the intracellular space into the vascular space. This elevates plasma osmolality, which in turn decreases edema formation.
here- Commonly used for treating conditions such as: glaucoma, cerebral edema, and oliguria.
- Always the solution is stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
